We’re used to seeing this on mobile design, but now we are starting to see it on desktop as well. These trends in main navigation for desktop definitely makes designing & coding the responsive design much easier and more intuitive. This type of interaction has quickly become the convention, and I have no hesitation in adopting this for my next desktop design:
