My talks with Susan were very beneficial because my artist-self needed direction, even when I didn’t know I needed direction. When I went through those moments of self doubt, Susan drew upon her own experience as an artist to reassure me that I was not crazy, nor was I alone in my thoughts. Having someone to listen and empathize with my creative process gave me a new perspective that was encouraging without being overly flattering, and this grounded me. It allowed me to fully trust her. Her guidance helped me focus on the steps to achieve my dream, and most of all, she pointed out ways that I could ask for help from others so that I may continue to guide myself closer to my goal.
