The safari is experienced in open Land Cruiser, and the guides know the savanna well. They track where the animals are and pull the Land Cruiser within viewing distance… so very close, it’s unnerving. As long as we stay in the Land Cruiser we are safe because the animals don’t see us IN the vehicle, they only see the vehicle itself and don’t associated it with food. If you were to get out of the vehicle though, they would see you as a threat and attack, and you would die.
At one point we had a flat tire. Those pics are for Mark and Gregor, who jumped out of the vehicle to assist. No one was looking for wild animals at that moment, in hindsight might have been a good idea.
